What are the driving discount or surcharge eligibility requirements?

If you have used the app for at least 120 days prior to your renewal notification being processed, and if you have recorded at least 1,000 kilometers on the app (since the time you enroled or since your last assessment) then you will receive a personalized discount or surcharge based on your driving score. If you recorded less than 1,000 kilometers on the app, then you will remain on the program but lose your discount (or surcharge) until the next time we assess you. If you’ve used the app for less than 120 days prior to your renewal notification being processed, you’ll keep the 10% enrolment discount until the next time we assess you. NOTE: Enrolment in the Aviva Journey program does not guarantee entitlement to any program discount or surcharge, which varies based on the collected data.

Can I withdraw from the program at any time?

Yes, you can end your participation at any time by contacting your broker, however, you will lose any discount or surcharge related to the program moving forward. You should delete the app from your phone as soon as you have completed your withdrawal through your broker. Please note if you just delete the app from your smartphone this does not automatically withdraw you from the program, you will still need to contact your broker to complete the withdrawal.

To get started, contact your insurance representative to add Aviva Journey onto your policy.

Receive a welcome SMS and email with instructions to register.

After logging in, accept the Terms of Use and all permissions requested.

Aviva Journey will then record your trips and display your latest trips on the dashboard

Your dashboard will display your driving score which is calculated using data collected on:
- Speed
- Cornering
- Braking
- Acceleration
- Context
- Distracted Driving
You will also see

Your latest trips

Date, length, time and your score for the trip

And your trip displayed on a map

Once the app detects your first trip

It will begin recording your trips and display them on the dashboard

You can find your latest trips here

After each trip you have the option to select if you were a driver or passenger from the previous trip

You have the choice to retag your trips from driver to passenger for trips made in the last 7 days

The Go to map feature maps out your selected trip

And illustrates all of the driving events that occurred during the trip resulting in an overall score

Your overall driving score is based on factors such as:
- Speed
- Cornering
- Braking
- Accelerations
- Context
- Distracted driving
The discount screen displays both current and projected discount

You can join Aviva Journey at any time and receive a 10% enrolment discount

When your Aviva Journey policy renewal is assessed

You must have driven a minimum of 1000 kms

This tracker displays how many kilometers have been recorded by the app
